Hello! I hope all is well with you and yours!
I am excited to be training for an extraordinary event at Big Springs Ranch for Children near Leakey, Texas. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. This coming April 4th, 2020, I will be (choose one) running/walking in the Headwaters of the Frio Trail (choose one) Marathon/Half Marathon/12K/5K at the 7,000 acre Big Springs Ranch for Children. This ranch, along with sister ranch Hill Country Youth Ranch near Ingram, TX, provide compassionate care to abused, abandoned, and severely traumatized children. They are havens of safety and love for children who have been rescued from horrific circumstances in their very short lives. To learn more, you can visit www.youth-ranch.org.
Each participant in this event commits to raise a minimum of $250 to benefit the vital work of these ranches. My fundraising goal is (XXX). I hope to meet and even exceed this worthy goal.
I'm letting you know about this because I would be extremely honored if you would consider a gift of $25, $50, $100 or any amount to help me meet my goal.
The money raised through the Headwaters of the Frio Trail Marathon, Half, 12K, & 5K will go directly into the Children’s Fund, which is HCYR’s all-purpose fund ensuring the provision of essentials for the children – food, clothing, housing, and transportation – plus the basic amenities of holiday celebrations, weekly allowances, birthdays, recreational activities, educational adventures, and a wide variety of life enrichment experiences.
USPS Mail version: If you would like to support my efforts, go to https://headwaters.greatfeats.com and type my name into the search field to give securely by credit card. You can also give by check. If giving by check, please put "Marathon - my name" on the memo line and mail your check to Hill Country Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 67, Ingram, TX 78025. HCYR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and you will receive a receipt as this is a tax-deductible gift.
I am tremendously excited to use my passion for (choose one) running/hiking to raise needed funds for this amazing ministry to children. Currently, 110 children, ages 5 to 18, are in the ranches' loving care. In the 42 years since the ranches were founded by Gary Priour of Ingram, TX, over 2,000 children have had their lives rescued and impacted by love to bring about healing and restoration.
Thank you so much for considering supporting me in this event and giving me unprecedented access to this beautiful and historic ranch in Texas for this grand purpose.
With much gratitude,
A final thought......
